Evaluation of malignant urinary bladder mass lesions by computerized tomography scan
Abstract:
Background: CT imaging is a more sensitive examination for the evaluation of bladder cancer compared with traditional excretory urography. Objective: To assess the diagnostic usefulness of CT in evaluation of malignant urinary bladder mass. Material and Methods: This present crosssectional study was carried out among 52 subjects to assess the diagnostic usefulness of CT in evaluation of urinary bladder mass with description of CT findings of different masses and to find out sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value and accuracy of CT scan during the period of January 2010 to December 2011 in the department of Radiology and Imaging, Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Dhaka. Results: Mean age was 57.82 ± 13.34 (mean ± SD) years and male-female ratio was 3:1. Among 52 cases, 45 (86.54%) masses were neoplastic and rest 07(13.46%) were inflammatory as diagnosed by CT scan. CT findings were compared with
